We are dedicated to supporting the development of the Pygmy Goat breed and believe a strong, collaborative community that brings together breeders who share the same passion and dedication to the breed is the best way to achieve that.
Our goal is to connect breeders who are committed to ethically and responsibly breeding to the Breed Standard, improving each successive generation and advancing the Pygmy Goat breed in Australia.
This Directory simplifies the search for ethical, responsible breeders from all Australian Associations, so visibility and exposure for your stud to reach more prospective buyers is the simple answer.
The idea of a central Directory for Pygmy Goat Breeders directory came about from the frustrations we had while trying to source our own foundation herd.
Very few breeders actually have websites or up to date social media pages that includes enough information, photos and pedigrees, stud listings on association pages didn’t indicate if the breeders were breeding what we were looking for of even if they were still active – many breeders we contacted through social media and email Australia wide didn’t reply and turns out some no longer even have Pygmy Goats.
People new to the breed have no idea how many associations there are and how to find registered Pygmy Goat breeders in their area. Sadly, many people buying from strangers off social media, places like Gumtree and even websites which anyone can create are getting scammed of their money by unscrupulous people who steal photos from legitimate Pygmy Goat breeders.
As a result, more and more people are looking for a legitimate resource to find Pygmy Goat breeders, both in their area and Australia wide.
This Directory solves all those problems and provides a single easily found platform for buyers to find legitimate, ethical, registered breeders across all associations in a scam-free environment.
More than that, this Directory is for dedicated breeders who are actively working to improve and develop the breed, rather than ‘puppy farm’ type operations breeding just to sell to the low end pet market.
Being part of a strong network of dedicated breeders around Australia who share this same goal allows ethical breeders to connect, share knowledge and collaborate for the benefit and ongoing development of the breed.
